Matthew 6:25-34
Talk Summary
Building on last week’s passage (notice the therefore in 6:25) about where we place our treasure, Jesus now shifts to how seeking God’s kingdom changes our relationship with worry and anxiety. Through five reflective questions, Jesus urges us to consider what truly matters in life—reminding us of God’s provision for birds and flowers, our value in his eyes, and the futility of worry.
While some concerns are legitimate, Jesus calls us to replace anxious striving with trust in our heavenly Father, who knows our needs. This doesn’t mean ignoring responsibilities or struggles, but seeking God’s kingdom first, trusting that he will provide. The talk closes by pointing to Jesus, who in his greatest moment of distress sought and trusted God’s will.
