This year on September 1, wear some dads socks, crocks and socks or thongs and socks, bring you dad or kids along, have a donut and hear about the wisdom and kindness of God, our Heavenly Father from a short talk on trusting God’s Words, the Bible.
Father’s Day dates back to 1910. A young lady named Sonora admired her Father for being a Civil War veteran and raising her and her siblings after their mother died. After hearing a Mother’s Day talk at church she wanted to honour her dad once a year, too. It took 60 years before it really took off, but by the mid 1970’s it officially became part of the Western calendar of celebrations.
